Our institute is the oldest archeological institution in Poland. It has been active in the field of research, education, and promotion of science since 1863. It has produced many eminent researchers and academic teachers. Today, the Institute runs a number of excavation projects in Poland and abroad and provides higher education in the field of archaeology and ancient history to more than 450 students.
You are welcome to collaborate with us and to follow the work of our students and scholars. Modern archaeology is not only a very important and fascinating field of research, but also a great adventure exploration and bringing back to the world of what has been long forgotten.
