Second Call for Papers

There is still time to submit your abstract for 2016 CRE Meeting in Krakow!

The Institute of Archaeology, Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Antiquity of Southeastern Europe Research Centre, University of Warsaw, supported by the Scientific Association of Ancient Egypt "Kemet"; the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw and the Egyptology Section in the Department of Ancient Near East Studies at Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw are pleased to announce the XVIIth Current Research in Egyptology International Conference which will be held in Krakow on 4-7 May 2016.

We welcome abstract submissions for a 20-minute presentation or an A0 poster from all postgraduate, independent, and early career researchers studying ancient Egypt and Sudan, including the Prehistoric/Predynastic, Pharaonic, Late, Graeco-Roman and Islamic periods. Themes may include, but are not limited to: art history, ceramics, current fieldwork, geoarchaeology, material culture, osteoarchaeology, philology, religion, and economy.

Abstracts should consist of no more than 1000 characters and should be submitted by 30^th  November 2015 to crexviikrakow@gmail.com. Remember to provide us with all names of the authors, their titles (if applicable) and affiliation (if not currently affiliated please note self as an independent researcher).

All conference events will take place in the historical part of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

The official language of the conference is English.

Important details

We offer "Early Bird" and "Late" registration periods. During the "Early Bird" period you will have two fee options – Basic and Full. The Basic registration fee covers a conference kit, four days of paper presentations, three keynote lectures, three days of tea/coffee breaks as well as evening social events. The Full option includes also participation in our conference dinner (offer limited to only 70 places), held in the Wierzynek restaurant on Thursday 5^th  May, 2016 – a three course dinner with drinks, service included.
